Looking for web design on the Gold Coast, with one person to deal with from start to finish? I'm Tim, and I'm based here. I build clear, good-looking websites for local businesses, with prices set out up front and someone to talk to after launch. You won't be passed between account managers. You'll deal with me.
Gold Coast web design for local businesses
I work with small, local businesses that want a website that does its job: tradies, salons, cafés, clinics and similar service businesses. The common thread is that customers need to understand what you do, trust you, and get in touch or book without any fuss.
I'm not the right fit for everything. My packages don't cover large online shops, custom booking systems, member logins or apps. If that's what you need, I'll say so early rather than stretch a package to fit.
How working with me works
The process is the same for every package, and it's written down before we start.
- Tell me what matters. We talk about your business, your customers and what the site needs to do. You get a written scope and price.
- See your direction. You review the first design before the rest of the site is built, and send one combined set of feedback for each included round.
- Make it yours. We add the agreed content, check the site on phones and desktops, and you approve it.
- Launch with someone to talk to. Your site goes live on the agreed date, with the care plan you chose.
You supply your business details, words, logo and photos you're allowed to use. If writing isn't your thing, copywriting is available as an optional extra. Your domain stays in your name from day one.
As for how we talk: most of the work happens online and by email, which keeps things moving. If you'd prefer to talk something through another way, tell me when you get in touch and we'll work it out. There's more detail on how the process works.
Packages and prices
There are three packages, each with a clear scope:
- Launch, $999. 1 focused, scrolling page with up to six sections, click-to-call and one enquiry form. Target: 5 business days.
- Local, $1,999. Up to 5 pages for your services, about and contact, with one enquiry form and a link to your existing booking system. Target: 10 business days.
- Signature, $3,499. Up to 8 pages with more tailored layouts, up to two forms, one booking embed and Google Search Console connected. Target: 15 business days.
Hosting and upkeep come through a monthly care plan: Essential at $79 a month, Active at $149 or Grow at $249. Active and Grow include time each month for small changes. AUD. GST is not charged.
You can pay the build up front in two stages, or spread it over 6 or 12 months with your care plan included. For example, Local with Active care is $349 a month over 12 months, then just the care plan. Spreading costs more than paying up front, and a minimum term applies. Full terms are in your proposal. The pricing page has everything side by side.
What makes a local website work for Gold Coast customers
Most of what makes a local site work isn't specific to any one city. It's about being clear, quick and easy to act on. A few things matter more than people expect.
It has to work on a phone
Google indexes and ranks websites using the mobile version of their content (opens in a new tab). Customers checking you out between jobs, at the beach or on the way to you aren't sitting at a desk. Every site I build is designed for phone, tablet and desktop screens, and I check the agreed pages and main actions on phones before launch.
Say where you work, in words people use
If you serve particular parts of the Gold Coast, say so plainly. If you travel to customers, list your areas. If customers come to you, make the address, parking and opening hours easy to find. Vague phrases like "servicing all areas" help nobody.
Your Google Business Profile matters as much as your website
For local searches, Google's page on how local results are ranked (opens in a new tab) says results are mainly based on relevance, distance and how well known a business is. It also says complete, accurate and verified profiles are more likely to show up. Keep your profile and website consistent, with the same name, phone number, hours and areas. My Google Business Profile guide explains how.
Keep seasonal details up to date
If your hours change over school holidays, summer or public holidays, update your website and your profile together. Google lets you set special hours ahead of time, so the profile doesn't say you're open when you're not.
Show real work and real details
Your own photos, your licence details if you're a licensed trade, your actual prices or how you quote. Being upfront helps customers who are comparing several local businesses. There's trade-specific advice in what a tradie website needs, and industry pages for electricians, hair salons, cafés and physiotherapists.
See the work
My business is new, so alongside a few recent websites I've made four concept sites for fictional businesses: an electrician, a salon, a café and a physio clinic. They show different directions, and they're clearly labelled as concepts, not client work. Have a look at the work page.
Get started
If you already have a website, the free website check is a quick look at the practical basics. If you'd like a new one, tell me about your business through the website brief, or send a message through the contact page. I'll help you work out a sensible next step.
